2019 Municipal Election


A General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, for Council Seat #1 (currently held by Mike Thomas) and Council Seat #3 (formerly held by Joy Goff-Marcil). If a run-off election is necessary, it will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. The persons elected to office will each serve a three-year term commencing April 8, 2019.

 Any person, who is a resident of the City, has the qualifications of an elector therein and has resided in the City of Maitland for the six-month period prior to qualifying, may become a candidate for nomination to the office of City Council.

 The qualifying period officially opens at Noon on Monday, January 21, 2019 and closes at Noon on Friday, January 25, 2019.  Individuals may announce their candidacy by completing forms provided by the City Clerk, any time prior to the qualifying period.

 Information on polling places will be forthcoming.

Voter registration application forms are available at City Hall for all non-registered voters. City Hall business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weekdays.
