Services Offered 

Home Smoke Detector Program:
Through a cooperative program with the State Fire Marshal's Office, Radio Shack and our department, we are able to offer free battery operated smoke detectors for installation in your home. The detectors are available to Maitland residents and can be installed per our personnel.

Home Fire Safety Surveys:
We will gladly come to your home to perform a fire safety survey. At that time we can answer any questions you may have on how to best protect your home and family from fires and other accidents. 

Fire Safety in the Work Place:
This class is available to all businesses in the City of Maitland. We will provide the class at your place of business and cover how best to protect your employees and facilities from fire and other emergencies. 

CPR and First Aid Classes:
The Fire Department offers a free Spring and Fall CPR class that is open to all Maitland residents.  No children under the age of 12 please. Class size is limited. Blood Pressure Checks:
Blood pressure checks are available in the front lobby of both fire stations. This service is offered free of charge and we will even give you a card to keep track of your blood pressure. Please note that no one may be available at the station due to emergency calls or training so if this is an emergency, please call 9 1 1. 

Disaster and Hurricane Preparedness:
We have brochures and pamphlets available at the Fire Stations to help you and your family prepare for hurricanes and other disasters. Stop by any time to pick up your copies.

Sharps Disposal and Containers:
We offer all City residents the proper disposal of your red sharps container. When you give us your old filled sharps container we will even provide you with a new container. 

Fire Station Tours:
We offer station tours to residents, guests, church groups, day cares, scouts. If you would like to see fire and rescue operations first hand we would be happy to show you around our "house" . Fire Extinguisher Classes:
We offer classes on how to operate and extinguish a fire with an extinguisher. This class consists of a presentation and hands on use of a fire extinguisher. Contact the Fire Marshal to schedule a class for your business or organization at 407/539-6228. 

Patient Follow-Ups and Falls Program:
The fire department's patient follow up and falls prevention initiatives are ones that keep the fire department in touch with the residents and visitors that they've provided both emergency and non-emergency services. The programs work together to help identify and minimize threats to our citizen's safety. 

Residential Knox Box Program:
Through a grant from the Winter Park Health Foundation, the fire department offers FREE residential knox boxes.  These boxes hange over your door and has a key to your home in it.  The boxes are offered to our senior citizens and those with severe medical and/or mobility challenges.  For additonal information or to request an application e-mail or call 407/539-6229.
