POSITION TITLE:              FIRE INSPECTOR (NON-CERTIFIED) (NON-EXEMPT)

PAY GRADE/STARTING SALARY:         $42,723 – $64.918 annually
HOURS:                                 Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (can vary)

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION: We are Internationally Accredited through CPSE and CAAS, and an ISO Class-1 fire department established in 1926. Located in Central Florida, we serve 18,500 residents, and a business population of 35,000, across 6.2 square miles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent as recognized by the State of Florida, Department of Education
• Possess & maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License
• Communicate effectively in English
• Associates Degree in Fire Science Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience

Required Certificates:
• Certificate of Compliance as a Fire Safety Inspector I from the State of Florida

Preferred Certificates:
• NIMS-700; ICS-100; ICS-200
• State of Florida Fire Investigator I Certification
• State of Florida Fire Instructor I Certification
• State of Florida Fire and Life Safety Educator I Certification

Other requirements:

• Must comply with Department physical evaluation requirements
