Information Technology

The mission of Information Technology (IT) is to provide City staff with appropriate levels of automation and telecommunications support, enabling them to fulfill their missions as cost effectively and efficiently as possible.

Network Administrator Function

The Network Administrator function is responsible for analysis of the City's network, including research and recommendation of hardware and/or software utilized on the City's network servers, desktop computers, and various laptops. A primary role of this function is project management related to the on-going maintenance and upgrade of the entire network and the supporting infrastructure. This function is also responsible for the administration and performance monitoring of the City's network.

IT Support Specialist II Function

This function within IT operates as the City's Help Desk assisting City employees with hardware and software support and troubleshooting. Included in this function is support and maintenance of all the desktop computers and printers within the City along with various laptops, including the MDTs (Mobile Data Terminals) utilized in the Police and Fire vehicles. This function is also responsible for the daily backup of data housed on the City's servers.
