1. Do we charge for playing tennis? Yes:

  1. We have hourly court fees @ $5.00 plus tax per hour before 5 PM and @ $8.00 per hour after 5 PM.  
  2. Annual passes are available for Maitland residents as well as non-residents.
  3. $3.00 plus tax guest fees are collected if and when joined by an annual pass patron.
  4. Court bookings taken one (1) day in advance by calling Maitland Community Park – 407-539-0042

2. Do we charge for playing basketball? Yes:

  1. Open Gym fees are $2 per person at the Maitland Middle School.
  2. Private basketball clinic sessions by independent teaching instructors may book court time based on availability. Hourly rates and/or contractual options may apply.

3. Do we charge for pavilions and picnic tables? Yes and No:

  1. Pavilions are rented on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. You must come by the Community Park in person to complete all paperwork and make payment for your respective site to guarantee the reservation.
  2. The two (2) small size shelters will accommodate a maximum of 32 persons (total head count) with four (4) 6' tables and a small grill.
  3. The one (1) large size shelter will accommodate a maximum of 80 persons (total head count) with ten (10) 8' tables and 2 large grills.
  4. Pavilions are rented on 1/2 day segments or a full day based on availability.
  5. Larger groups of up to 150 may utilize the facilities if and only if all three shelters are rented to accommodate the larger group.
  6. There are four (4) 8' picnic tables under tree cover that are available for families or small groups of less than 15 persons. These are not rental spaces and are 1st come, 1st serve.
  7. Any group of 15 or more persons must complete paperwork and rent pavilion space.
  8. Pavilion area, playgrounds all close at dusk.

4. How do we sign up for tennis classes?

  1. Group and/or private tennis lessons are offered throughout the year.
  2. Each set of group lessons is on a six (6) week format. A seventh (7th) week is scheduled for rain makeups.
    Private tennis lessons are normally booked between the individuals and the tennis pro.
    Private lesson rates are $25.00 (1/2 hour) and $50.00 (1 hour) for a resident of Maitland. Non-residents - $30.00/half hour or $55.00/hour.
    Semi-private lessons also taught for 2, 3 or 4 individuals at once.

5. What all is available within the park?   

  1. The Community Park is a 26 acre setting. We have 19 usable acres with 7 acres of wetland on the eastern portion of the property. Hours of operations: 8 AM to 10 PM Tuesday - Thursday, 8 AM to 8 PM Friday - Monday.

  1. Homer Hough at Lake Sybelia Point Park - small pavilion with four (4) tables, (2) grills, small swing set and slide, restrooms. Suitable for groups up to 32.
  2. Lake Lily Gazebo - utilized for wedding ceremonies and small party functions.  Picnic tables may be removed for decorating purposes and to accommodate a wedding ceremony. Call 407-539-6268 for rental information.
  3. Minnehaha Park - (2) mini pavilions with (1) grill. (1) small pavilion with (4) tables and (1) grill.
  4. Bellamy Park - (1) medium pavilion with (5) tables and (1) large grill.

Boat Passes: Maitland/WP chain of lakes Annual fees run from July 1st through June 30th of each year. FL Registration required to purchase boat passes. 
Rates are based on length and horsepower of vessel. Contact Maitland Community Park for accurate rates at 407-539-0042.
Fees will be pro-rated (1/2 price) as of January 1st through June 30th of the calendar year.
Day Passes: Available for $6.00. Current Florida registration required.
Boat Pass Machine: located at Dinky Dock Boat Ramp - Winter Park.

Senior Center: Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is there a membership fee to Attend the Senior Center? NO!

We welcome all seniors (55+) to attend workshops and activities we offer.  You do not have to be a Maitland resident to attend.

2. Do we charge for classes?  Yes and No

The majority of our classes do not have fees. For classes that do have fees associated with them are typically from $3-5 per class. Please call or ask in the front office about which classes have fees.

3. Do we rent the Senior Center after hours?  Yes:


1.     Rentals are on a first come first serve basis.
2.     There is a 4 hour minimum rental period.
3.     The event must end and all guests must vacate the premise by the end of the rental period. The Maitland Senior Center is not rented past 10pm.

6) We offer SHINE Counseling!

       1. SHINE (Serving Health insurance needs of elders) offers free unbiased counseling on Medicare, Medigap, HMO’s, Medicaid, and Prescription Drug Plans. SHINE is at the Maitland Senior Center on the Second Friday of every month from 10am-12 noon. All Counseling is a first-come, first-served. Bring with you a list of all your medications or Rx bottles, insurance card, and red, white and blue Medicare card.
