HOURS:              MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:00am–10:00am and 2:00pm–4:00pm (split times, shifts may vary)
               
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:     
High School diploma or equivalent.

Must successfully pass a physical agility test and complete the required training for School Crossing Guards before starting job.  Must obtain the Florida School Crossing Guard Certification, and re-certify annually.

Pass Police Department background screening. Possess certification in First-Aid or obtain this certification within three months of employment.

CITY ENGINEER (EXEMPT)

POSITION TITLE: CITY ENGINEER (EXEMPT)
PAY GRADE/STARTING SALARY:  GRADE 28 – $74,336 annually or D.O.Q.
HOURS:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering, or a closely related field. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in municipal engineering, or a related field, to include three (3) years of supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
State of Florida Registered Professional Engineer or obtain registration within one year of employment.
Possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License for vehicles driven.

Firefighter/Paramedic

Position: Firefighter/Paramedic

Maitland Fire Rescue Department will be conducting a hiring assessment for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.

You must be a State of Florida certified Firefighter and Paramedic (or National Registry EMT-P) by October 1, 2018. You MUST attend the department assessment on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in order to be considered for employment.  The Department will communicate with you via e-mail regarding other pertinent information.

STARTING SALARY: $16.99/hr – $49,490 annually (based on a 56-hour average work week) A one-time Certification Compensation totaling $3,500
HOURS: Varying Shifts (56-hour average work week) 24 on/48 off

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:
We are Internationally Accredited through CPSE and CAAS; we are an ISO Class-2 fire department established in 1926. Located in Central Florida, we are an all FF/PM Transport Department. We have two fire stations, 39 shift personnel and 7 administrative personnel.

We serve 17,000 residents, and a business population of 35,000, across 6.2 square miles. Maitland also provides Fire and EMS services to the Town of Eatonville.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent as recognized by the State of Florida, Department of Education
Possess & maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License
Communicate effectively in English
Must be Tobacco Free for one year prior to application

Required Certifications:
State of Florida Firefighter II Certificate of Compliance by October 1, 2018
State of Florida Paramedic License by October 1, 2018

PUBLIC WORKS OPERATIONAL MANAGER (EXEMPT)

PAY GRADE/STARTING SALARY:  GRADE 26 - $64,842 annually – D.O.Q.
HOURS: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in public administration, construction, environmental science, or closely related field. Experience in disciplines related to horticulture, athletic fields, landscaping maintenance, vehicle maintenance and/or facilities maintenance.
Seven or more years of experience involving increasing responsibility for athletic field maintenance, grounds maintenance, fleet equipment maintenance, and/or building knowledge.
Three or more years of experience involving personnel supervision, and/or any equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.
Significant experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and data base applications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possess a restricted use pesticide application license or obtain a restricted use pesticide application license within six (6) months of employment.
Possess a commercial fertilizer applicator’s license within twelve (12) months of employment.
Possess Florida Department of Environmental Protection certification for Best Management Practices, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment.
Possess the National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS-700 within 30 days of employment and the ICS- 100 and ICS-200 within 90 days of employment. There may be additional NIMS required, which will be schedule by your Supervisor.
Possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License for vehicles driven.

Preference given to those with mowing experience, athletic fields or golf course maintenance, or landscape experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
U.S. Citizen; Minimum age: 21 to apply
High School Diploma/GED which meets state standards; college coursework preferred.
Good physical condition. Vision requirements: correctable to 20/20.
Good moral character. No felony convictions. No misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury of false statements as outlined in Florida Statutes. No pending criminal charges.
Successfully pass polygraph, psychological exam, medical exam, background investigation.
No dishonorable discharge from any branch of military.

Employees in this position are required to pass the National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS-700 within 30 days of employment and the ICS-100 within 60 days of employment.
